It's 2016!

Happy New Year!

I can't really believe how quick 2015 has flown by, as in the tradition I was thinking about what I would like to accomplish in 2016 creatively. I'm not going to say resolutions as they are just so hard to stick to and then you feel you have let yourself down if you can't keep to them and being creative is about having fun and not having strict rules. So far I have committed to myself to:

1. Carry on Getting Messy- I can't quite believe how far I have come since joining up last year.  When I first joined it was all about getting my inspiration back and just having fun from it. I have got my inspiration back and due to this I have got involved or dreamt up other creative projects.

2. Lauren's Lyrics- this is my year long commitment, I have been thinking of doing this for a while. Each day of this year I'm going to document a song lyric in my trusty moleskin. At the moment nothing fancy just practising my handwriting as well as my journal staging.  Come follow me on Instagram to see daily progress. I will be posting a monthly round up of all my favourite lyric pages throughout the month.

3. Color Chaos- a collaboration of like minded lovelies from Get Messy, we've each picked a colour and will stick to that colour while passing around each of our journals. Check back later in the year to check out my progress.

4. Fashion through the ages- This project I started last year and didn't really complete it, this year I want to finish it and show it off.

5. Various Zine ideas, such as the Lauren doesn't like zine- this was an idea that was dreamt up last year. If you know me I have lots of weird rules, don't trust someone with small eyes *ahem* Taylor Swift and don't eat fruit out of context. As they are such specialised rules an idea formed to put them in some type of zine

I think that's about it for now, I'm sure I will involve myself with lots more projects and dream up lots more ideas.

On the left is my first attempt at art journalling and on the right it one of my latest attempts for my spooky book. From looking at both, I feel I have come a long way and have managed to develop a style I didn't really know I had!

As I said in my last post still getting all the darkness out of myself and looking forward to using some bright colours for next Get Messy season.

Lots of love,

LaurenPearl xx
